How It Works

In the app, tap the share icon on the reel, then Copy link. In a browser, copy the address bar.

The reel opens with its caption, plays and comments count, so you can check it first.
Save the MP4
Tap Download video. The file keeps the reel’s sound, including licensed music.
Reels Keep Their Sound
A reel's music and voice are part of its video file, so the MP4 you save plays exactly as it did in the app. That includes songs from Instagram's music library: they stay in the file, but they're licensed to the reel's owner for Instagram, so keep a saved reel for watching rather than posting it somewhere else.
Any Reel Link Works
Paste a link from the app's share sheet, a browser address with /reel/ or /reels/ in it, or a post link: reels and posts open the same way. If a link starts with instagram.com/share/, open it in Instagram first and copy the link from there, because those links only resolve inside the app.
Questions
Is the reels downloader free?
Yes, and there is no limit on reel length or a sign-up.
Do downloaded reels have a watermark?
No. Instagram's reel files carry no watermark, and we don't add one.
Can I save just the audio of a reel?
Not yet. For now a reel downloads as an MP4 video with its sound.
Can I download reels from private accounts?
No. Only reels from public accounts.
Where does the reel go on my iPhone?
Safari saves it to the Files app, in Downloads. Open it there and tap Share, then Save Video, to put it in Photos.
