ins.ninja doesn't have user accounts and doesn't ask who you are. Here is what we handle, and why.
What You Look Up
The usernames and links you enter are sent to the data providers we use, so they can fetch the public Instagram data you asked for. We keep the results (public profile details, posts, stories and highlights, with links to their photos and videos) in a cache for 10 minutes to 6 hours, then they are deleted. We do not keep a record of who looked up what.
Your IP Address
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, uses your IP address to deliver pages and to protect the site. We use it to count how many requests come from one address per minute, so nobody can overload the site; those counts are kept only for that minute. Cloudflare's own request logs are kept for a few days for troubleshooting.
Counts Without Personal Data
We count how many pages are served and how many lookups are made each day, by kind (for example, "profile pages: 1,200"). These counts contain no IP addresses, usernames you looked up or anything else that identifies a visitor.
Email Addresses
Some features are not built yet, and their pages let you leave an email address to hear when they open. We store that address, the feature you chose, the date, and the country Cloudflare guesses from your connection. We use the address for one email when the feature opens and for nothing else, and we never sell or share it. To have it deleted sooner, write to hello@ins.ninja from that address.
Cookies and Local Storage
We don't use cookies, ads or analytics trackers. Two things may be kept in your browser's local storage, on your device only.
One is your choice of light or dark mode, if you pick one with the button in the header, so the site opens the same way next time. Choosing "Match system" removes it.
The other is a list of the Instagram accounts you've opened here, which the search box shows as recently viewed. It holds the last eight, with each account's username, name, profile picture link and verified badge. It stays in your browser and is never sent to us. Anyone who uses the same browser can see it, and you can remove an account or clear the whole list under the search box.
Children
ins.ninja is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
